A digital pen is just as is sounds a pen that digitilises writing. Digital pens are available in a variety of formats. Some use inbuilt transmitting devices combined with a sensor to monitor the movement of the pen on standard paper, such as the Zpen from Dane-Elec. Other rely upon an inbuilt camera mounted in the tip of the pen to detect the position of the pen on specially marked "digital" paper, such as the Nokia SU-1B Digital Pen.
